Independent Reviews From Tripadvisor
Beautiful location, wonderful game drives, good food. An overall wonderful stay and experience. Our guide both on the bush walk and game drive was very experienced and gave us a rememberable tour. Reception was very helpful.
an unforgettable stay, a change of scenery, a beautiful location breathtaking, the staff freindly and small soin.tres nice stay. a very nice view at the restaurant and a beautiful natural setting. I absolutely recommend you
It is what it is, a small private game reserve. It’s not 5 star however the food is very good ( they will cater for your likes/dislikes without fuss) and more importantly the staff, especially Camilla, were all so friendly and extremely helpful. Rooms are comfortable and after taking a few mornings to get used to showering outside on the decking and the view from the toilets at Reception are amazing … I just loved the whole experience.
The guides were very knowledgable and the morning and evening safaris were great little trips out. OK we didn’t see a lion but we did see a rhino, elephants, giraffes and various other wild life …. A great way to introduce yourself to Safaris.
We booked a 2 hour elephant experience, a treat for my birthday. I loved it and would definitely recommend this. The elephants are well looked after and everything is done at their pace. Our guides were Edward and Charlie who were both welcoming and gave us loads on info regarding the elephants. They answered all of our questions and we had such a laugh at the elephant antics. Playing football with the elephants is something I will never forget.
We took a morning trip to Kruger but as there had been a public holiday, the gate was very busy. We asked the guide if we could make it a full day trip and when he phoned The Camp, this wasn’t a problem. Kruger was an amazing day and here, we did see the Big 5. Our guide spotted Big Cats from such a distance and made the day special.
Thank you all so much, especially Camilla.

An unforgettable holiday. All staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Fantastic view from the room, an oasis of calm and delight. The giraffes were my highlight! I even tried the Spa – my first time!
A weekend away that more than paid for itself in great service, people and food. Not forgetting the awesome staff and wildlife experience. A short and pleasant stay, away from the noise and chaos of city life.
Kwa Madwala is small, but worth a stop if you’re travelling through South Africa visiting several places. It’s a good, small reserve to visit before going into the much more vast Kruger. I especially enjoyed their dining with a view, their offered experiences (especially the elephant ride), and the lovely architecture of the bomas. Great attention to detail.
Thank you very much for an amazing time with your two wonderful Elephants, the staff were amazing and gave us so much interesting information about elephant behaviour. The whole experience was incredible and such a privilege to be able to interact with these amazing animals.
Lovely place to be. The monkeys make the outdoor douche complet. The bed is ok. We are not a big fan of the open toilet. the restaurant and the view are lovely. It s the place to be for relaxing. Super!
