Mozambique Day Tour
Please note: a passport is required and visa conditions apply for non SA citizens
We have 2 day tours to choose from.
Day on the beach: The beach tour departs at 05h00 and included breakfast and lunch.
This tour is conducted in a 4 x 4 vehicle as roads are not suitable in summer for normally equipped vehicles. It takes clients to a superb destination called the Macaneta Islands.
Lunch is enjoyed at a local seafood restaurant on the island. It is a long day in the car (about 8 hours’ drive in total) although the trip is only a mere 180 km one way from the lodge; borders, ferries, local traffic and poor roads mean that one has to take longer than normally is expected, if there is time you might get a glimpse of Maputo and enjoy coffee or sundowners at one of the local restaurants.
You can expect to be back in camp at around 20h00 in time for a late dinner.
City Tour: The city tour of the capital of Mozambique departs at 05h00 and includes breakfast and lunch.
The tour visits the old fashioned railway station, local museums, as well as the oldest church “The squeezed Lemon”. The tour includes a truly Mozambican lunch at either the Costa Do Sol restaurant or The Polana Hotel. A scenic drive along the coast and magnificent harbor will also take you to the local fisherman’s market – an interesting place to say the least. This is the place where Vasco Da Gama landed in 1498 on his way to India. The tour offers historical sites, cultural and scenic beauty. Guests are back in camp at around 18.30 in the afternoon in time for drinks and dinner.
