Kwa Madwala is one of the few places on earth that offers Elephant Interaction Experiences, Microlight Safaris, as well as Horse Back Safaris.
Kwa Madwala also offers game viewing experiences on site using open four wheel drive vehicles, our specially trained guides take guests on early morning and late afternoon wilderness & game drives on the Kwa Madwala Private Game Reserve and half day or full day tours in the Kruger National Park, Kwa Madwala also offers Walking Safaris which should not be missed.
Breath taking birds-eye views can also be enjoyed on our aerial safari flights (Microlight safaris) over Kwa Madwala Private Game Reserve and Manyatta Rock Camp, some flight options also include the southern border of the Kruger National Park which consists of the Crocodile River and a private Kruger National Park concession area along Kwa Madwala’s northern border.
Enviable Location
The enviable location of our game reserve in South Africa is close to Swaziland, Mozambique and Kruger National Park affords the chance for visitors to explore the diversity of this region. A range of guided day and half-day excursions are offered from any of the camps and we recommend a minimum four night stay to fully appreciate the game reserve and surrounding areas.
Manyatta Rock Camp
The Manyatta Rock Camp nestles amongst boulders and trees that form a kopje overlooking the private Kwa Madwala Reserve, with magnificent views from the dining deck, bar and private lookout deck of each chalet.
At the lodge you’ll find a restaurant serving wonderful local specialties as well as international favourites, a welcoming bar area, outside boma and swimming pool. Our cosy viewing lounge deck is raised on stilts jutting out over the rocks proviing a stunning spot for leisurely game viewing or a quiet moment to enjoy a sun-downer absorbing the special beauty that surrounds you.
The 27 en-suite chalets each within a dome shaped building blend amongst the monolithic boulders they’re scattered across. Six of the domes have an additional separate living room, three with one extra single bed and three with two extra single beds, ideal for families with children. There is also a Honeymoon Suite for anyone looking to experience a little more romance and maximum privacy. Comfortable and elegant without being fussy, Manyatta is praised for its relaxed charm, unique bedroom design and stunning hilltop location.
Manyatta Rock Camp is charged on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis with lunch and activities charged separately as you require them. This way you only pay for what you want to do. For the more energetic a busy on-the-move adventure packed experience awaits you, and for those who choose more of a ‘time out’ experience, this may be to just relax on your private look out deck, enjoy a treatment in our spa or spend some time reading by the pool.
Manyatta Rock Camp can be pre booked inclusive of extra activities and lunch or alternatively booked on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis only, leaving you to decide on your safaris and other activities when you have arrived.

Our Reserve
Kwa Madwala Private Game Reserve is a 2000 ha Private Game Reserve, situated adjoining the southern Kruger National Park and in close proximity to Swaziland and Mozambique. There are 3 camps on the reserve namely Manyatta Rock Camp, Bush House for our Volunteer Gap and Leap students and Elephant Camp which is a basic, rustic camp suited for school groups & teambuilding.
While staying in the Kwa Madwala Private Game Reserve you will be able to watch the sun rise over the Lebombo Mountains to the east and in the evenings marvel at the orange glow of the sun as it sets again in the west. Enjoy the bush views in every direction and just listen to the stillness of this wonderful African wilderness.
